## (2023-06-11) How to meditate?

**The process is as under**:
1. Bring in Buddha, Dhamma & Sangha as part of sa-vitakka and sa-vicara
2. Then, recite in the mind and start to see why you should have faith in B, D, S
3. Reflect for 10 minutes so that the mind is calm and has taken up B, D, S completely
4. Establish the 5 or 8 precepts of your choice
5. Since your silā has to be there for all the days, Jinapanjara sutta is very helpful along with comtemplation of duccarita vipaka sutta
6. Start watching the breath and try to discern the 5 dhatu's
7. Automatically, you will start to lose the hold of all the 5 dhatu's as internal and external leading to a very peaceful state which is "sukha"
8. To move higher, you need to do guarding the sense doors by removing the "sign or symbol" and that helps you to remove the hindrances
9. Workout on the removing the hindrances. First to go would be doubt, and then remorse, then sloth & torpor, then excess desire and hatredness. This will make you achieve anāgami stage very easily
