> - #dhamma/practice/best **Fantastic talk** on seeing **[[Anatta]]** and get ready for practicing **[[Anapanassati]]**!!

## Notes
- @@ #dhamma/practice See in front of the mirror, and start seeing if I can see the 4 + 4 Elements as with [[Yathabhuta|Yathābhūta]] nanna, and it is not "me" and "mine" ([[Anatta]]), instead of seeing "Eryu"
- @@ When we see with [[Yathabhuta|Yathābhūta]] and able to see that form is anatta, the **mind get "released" from the form!**
- #eryu/learning/insight **@@@@** Practice seeing with **11 different Qualities**! (E.g. past, now, future, etc.) Because for example, when something is "**inferior**", like urine, it's easy to see that it's not mine, but a "**superior**" thing like my face, it's easier to start to see it as mine!
- #eryu/learning/insight **@@@@** Practice seeing with **"not mine"**, **"does not belong to me"**, and **"not me"**, is **3 different (increasing) levels of ignorance**!!
- Vilas: It's not exactly like that. It's very subtle. **Craving, conceit and views** are subtle. **Explained BELOW**!
- ![[Anatta#^etan-mama-etc]]
- @@ Among the 3, the **easiest -> hardest** to remove is:
- **ditthi (me atta)** -> **tanha (mama)** -> **mana (aham asmi**)
- @@@@ **Goal**: With [[Manasikara|Yoniso Manasikāra]], you should be able to **see the "Face" as "Holes" (Akasa)** — Which is the **easiest to penetrate** within the 5 Qualities!!
- [[MN62 Mahārāhulovādasutta]] is a **Must-have** **PREREQUISITE** for practicing [[Anapanassati]]!!!!
## Part 2 - Fabulous Overview of Dhamma & Practice #dhamma/overview/best
- ([Youtube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhzXRyMqYfg))
- Vilas described the 2 extreme views in [[DN1 Brahmajālasutta|DN1]] and how it relates to the 2 extreme views described in [[SN56.11 Dhammacakkappavattanasutta]]
- And why when **MN1** was taught by the Buddha, **NONE** of the people were happy..
- (0-28m) @@ And he proceeds to give a **complete overview of Dhamma** around [[Yathabhuta|Yathābhūta Ñāna]] :)
- (28m onwards) @@ And he gave an superb overview of the **practice** using the 3 steps of [[Samatha]], [[Vipassana]], and how [[Anupassana]] brings the automatic process of [[Noble 8-fold Path]], using the example of [[Ahara]].
- An example of watching the holes (akasa) in the nose
1. **Samatha** is getting ready for observing the nose (by calming all Sankhara)
2. **Vipassana** is to observe the nose (e.g. watching its holes)
3. **Anupassana** is a deeper state where you are "watching" the nose as a 3rd person
## Part 3 - Practice session
([Youtube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bXEhkzQrAo))
- (8m - 1hr) Guided meditation
##### Steps of [[Anapanassati]] #dhamma/practice/important
> [!info] In accordence with the [[MN118 Ānāpānassatisutta#^16-steps-note|16 steps]] in Ānāpānassatisutta
1. @@@@ You have to **Watch** (like a **3rd person / Camera**) the **in and out breath** with **==KEEN Attention!==**
- @@ When you **watch keenly**, breath slows down (from long to short, heavy to light)
2. ([1h3m in](https://youtu.be/3bXEhkzQrAo?t=3777)) **@@@@** the 3rd step of Anapanassati **(*sabbakāyapaṭisaṁvedī*)**, it's observing the **==Whole body going up and down==**, with a **==Floating==** sensation. ^7c34c6
- You have to **"feel"** the body, from **toe to the head** and **head to toe**.
- @@ As you breath in, observe that the **==entire body is going up==**, like a **==floatation device==**, when you are breathing out, feel the **==entire body collapase==**.
- @@ When you get **floating sensation** in the 3rd step, **you get ==pīti==**.
3. Eventually, the **body movement ==STOPS== completely** — no more up and down.
4. From **pīti**, you get **==sukha==**
5. When you get **sukha**, the **==cittasaṅkhāra== (feeling and perception) calms and stops**
6. Then you get **==pamoda== (Very glad)**
7. Due to **pamoda**, Hence you get **perfect ==[[Samadhi|Samādhi]]==** (*samādahaṁ cittaṁ*)
8. From Samadhi, you will get **==vimocaya==**
- Vimocaya happens because the **mind is no longer associating with the 5 dhatu**
9. vimocaya leads to **aniccanupassana**
- **@@ And once the mind is "freed up", it can see anicca**
10. aniccanupassana leads to **viraganupassana**
- when anicca happens, viraga happens
11. when viraga happens, **nirodha** happens
12. Eventually leads to **paṭinissagga**, and turning itself into **[[Nibbana|Nibbāna]]**
- You will know when you have achieved Nibbana, but do not take it as **"mine"**
- @@ There is no "you" who is experiencing Nibbana; **there is only Nibbana**
###### Final notes
- **Overview:** ==Stop Vacīsaṅkhāra -> stop Kāyasaṅkhāra -> stop Cittasaṅkhāra -> Samadhi -> Vimocaya -> aniccanupassana, viraganupassana, nirodhanupassana, patinissagga -> Nibbana==
- 3 types of sankhara stops
- **Vacīsaṅkhāra** stops due to step (1) above
- **Kāyasaṅkhāra** stops at step (3) above
- **Cittasaṅkhāra** stops at step (5) above, due to **sukha**
- when the 3 stops, you're in **perfect Samadhi**
