##### (2022-07-20) Discussion on [[SN56.11 Dhammacakkappavattanasutta|Dhammacakkappavattanasutta]] Sutta - https://youtu.be/HVfgmGImbOA - Fantastic discourse on [[SN56.11]] on the [[4 Noble Truths]] regarding [[Dukkha]], [[Jati]], etc.!! With #Harshil. - Vilas: for you to progress deeper into Dhamma via suttas, you need to properly understand the ***Etymology*** (i.e. root and composition) and the utterances (i.e. **pronunciation**) of the **[[Pali|Pāli]]** words, and ***Penetrate*** into their meanings. - Relying on just the English translation leads to confusion and wrong views, as it's often inaccurate and out of context. - **[[Dukkha]]** = Du (bad) + akkha (senses) = what brings pain to the 6 senses. ^4ad1af - i.e. What's coming (as an object) to the 6 senses cannot be maintained the way we like them to be. - It has nothing to do with suffering -- you have to take a **pain** to get that object back, and that's the suffering. - **[[Sukha]]** means the opposite -- whatever is coming in the senses matches exactly how I like them to be. - **@@** Dukkha is **certain** when we take ***Birth*** ([[Jati]]) - And we take birth because of our ***Gati*** (tendencies, inclinations, habits, etc.) - Sutta = Su (good) + atta (person) = beneficial to the person = what brings happiness to me. - **@@@@** It brings happiness because it helps me to understand ***Why am I Born***, and only with the understanding, things can be corrected!! - 2nd noble truth - Dukkha **arises** because of your crave, welcomes, and relishes sense pleasures. - (Around 1hr in) Vilas also gave a good explanation on the [[Pancupadanakkhandha|5 Aggregates]] - (Around 1hr8m in) Vilas also explained about [[Sakadagami]]
