# Dukkha — The "Unsatisfactory" nature of all experiences | The "Burden" of Life!
> [!INFO] What is Dukkha (the 1st [[4 Noble Truths|Noble Truth]])?
> - Dukkha = **Du** (bad) + **akkha** (senses) = what brings **pain** to the 6 senses.
> - i.e. what's coming (as an object) to the 6 senses *cannot be __maintained__* the way we like them to be (due to [[Anicca]]).
> - For the above reason, all experiences are ***Unsatisfactory*** in nature.
> - Due to [[Avijja]], we cannot see dukkha, and think the world can provide us with **"lasting happiness"** (i.e. [[Sukha]]).
> [!example] 3 Types of Dukkha
> 1. **Dukkha dukkha** — After being born, one has to take care of the body and take the physical pain that comes with it
> 2. **Sankhāra dukkha** — i.e. **"no pain, no gain"** — one has to keep putting in efforts (to satisfy the [[Ayatana|Senses]])
> 3. **Viparināma dukkha** — **"Unexpected"** changes in the [[Pancupadanakkhandha|5 aggregates]] and 6 [[Ayatana|sense]] objects
## 8 Types of Dukkha
